Luton Town vs Burnley
Luton Town’s fairytale run in the Premier League last season ended after getting relegated, due to finishing in the 18th position on the table. The Hatters will now shift their focus back to the EFL Championship. They open their campaign against Burnley on match day 1.
Rob Edwards’s team did not have the best of pre-season run, failing to win any of their matches. The Hatters played five pre-season games in which they only managed to win one, draw once and collect three losses. Nevertheless, pre-season is all about preparation, the real work starts for them against Burnley.
Burnley were one of the other sides to get relegated alongside Luton. The Clarets who are going through a transition period, have signed Scott Parker to take the club forward. Parker has been doing a lot of work behind the scenes. Under him, the team has played maximum of the matches behind closed doors.
Their only official pre-season game came against Spanish outfit Cadiz. It ended in a 1-1 draw. The Clarets have done an excellent job of retaining their main players as they aim to make a push for the Premier League qualification places again.
