What to keep an eye on this weekend in the Premier League
- Arsenal could cut the gap at the top of the Premier League to three points on Saturday evening with victory over Brighton. The Gunners are in action 24 hours before leaders Liverpool and the opportunity to apply some pressure at the summit
- Regardless of whether or not Arsenal cut the gap for 24 hours, Liverpool have the chance to heap more misery on Ruben Amorim and Manchester United. Amorim has won just one of the last six in the Premier League (five losses) and another defeat could, remarkably, edge them closer to the drop zone
- Tottenham and manager Ange Postecoglou are desperate having won just one of the last seven in the Premier League but they will have to beat one of the division's form teams in Newcastle if they are to do so
- The division's bottom three all need wins and need them fast if they are to get out of danger, especially Southampton, who could finish the day as much as 13 points adrift of safety
Speculation around the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold rumbles on and of course, the question was posed to manager Arne Slot in today's news conference about a potential exit for the full-back this month.
While Slot was vague when speaking about Real Madrid's interest, the Liverpool boss stated that Alexander-Arnold is "fully committed" and confirmed that he will start against Manchester United on Sunday.
